I like this question because it all comes down to personal preference and style and the "right" is whatever the reporter chooses! I think not punctuating at all would make it more readable. But if the answer was actually "something else" then it becomes a more important part of the question. In that case, then I'd put a comma after constant. That being said all of the answers already given have justification, it's just how you think it best reflects how the question was asked and answered.

Seems like there are really two questions here, one about what she described, the other about what it was like. Probably not the popular choice, but I'd punctuate it this way: Did she ever describe whether or not the bleeding was spotting? Or was it constant or something else? Agree with Fahrenwide, boils down to reporter preference and style. |
