6/17/2011 3:08:38 PM I would like to know which schools graduate the best scopists? I am trying to choose a school to become a scopist that not only portrays to have the best education but whom court reporters also can attest to providing the best scopists. The costs of the schools plus the cost for the software is expensive so I want to make sure that my money will give me the best training possible. In addition, I want to do an excellent job and since I have seen so many court reporters state that many scopists they have hired may not have been that great because of their training, I want to find a way to reduce that in my career. Thanks in advance!! |

Scoping Made Affordable offers an outstanding program at a very reasonable price. I can't say enough good things about working with Devon Roberts. She personally called me to discuss the program and always responds promptly to any emails. Her training reinforced what I'd learned in court reporting school and taught me much more. I'm now working just about full-time for one reporter and love it! Thanks to Devon and the SMA program, I felt very comfortable starting out. It was definitely the right choice for me! |

I would recommend Devon Roberts and Scoping Made Affordable (SMA). SMA offers live , interactive online classes and a very comprehensive curriculum. Devon continues to be a resource for those who have graduated from her program. For those who have completed different scoping courses but still do not feel ready to work, SMA offers a Scoping Intern Program (SIP).

I unequivocally stand behind Devon Roberts, owner of Scoping Made Affordable, (SMA). I was truly amazed at the scope (no pun intended!) of knowledge that was taught, as well her one-on-one tutelage, and I can still call on her when something stumps me. I highly recommend her for whatever training or scoping issues you might have, whether you are brand new and need to start your training or are already a scopist and need to brush up on certain skills as she has programs for all. |

| April Hansen I don`t know of any schools for scoping. I don`t use a scopist myself as I can`t afford it. :) Friday, June 17, 2011 | ||

| Anne Perry I use a scopist for everything, and people will stay faithful to a good one! Most people don`t understand that if you are relatively busy, you CAN afford a scopist. They are doing work that THEY can do while you are out doing more of the work that only YOU can do. I would not survive without my scopist. She is wonderful! I don`t know where she went to school, but once you decide which software you are going to use, you can go on the forums and discuss schools with some other scopists. | Johana Kesterson-Caous I agree with Anne. It is expensive to start since u have to pay your scopist even though you haven`t gotten paid on the job. But once you establish a working relationship, must scopists are willing to wait until u get paid. As to your question,i found my scopist on the website for my software and she is worth EVERY penny. I believe she was a reporter turned scopist though. So I dont know much about scopist schools but maybe you could go to the software forums and read where they went to school.
